Some might suggest that the Android tablet market is sagging, but with games like Fortnite being brought over to the mobile markets, perhaps tablets are going to make a comeback. Aside from Apple, a lot of tablet manufacturers have dialed things back. Some almost entirely. In fact we’ve noticed ASUS not showing any new tablets so far this year and given the date, 2018 may not see a release from them at all. Samsung however is continuing to offer Android tablets to take on the Apple iPad market dominance. If you’re looking for an Android tablet that is priced in around the entry level iPad, Samsung is just rolling out their more economical Galaxy Tab A 10.5 (2018) model.
From what we can see, the Galaxy Tab A (2018) has a wide range of specs that will more than meet expectations or needs.
There are a few other features like a kids mode, Bixby Vision and multi-user mode that will appeal to families as well. Over all though, with a sizeable battery a good display it’s a good option. With ASUS seemingly out of the tablet game, choices for new Android tablets are becoming sparse. Regardless of the lacking variety on the market, the Galaxy Tab A (2018) is a worthy competitor to the similarly priced iPad. The US market gets a September 14th release date and a price of $329 and its currently available in Canada for $429 from all the main electronic retailers. If you have deeper pockets you could look at the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 that is priced around $869 in Canada and around $650 in the US.
