Well Asus has done it again. This time at CES 2014 we may have a real game changer thanks to the innovation by Asus. Welcome to the Asus Duet TD300.
I think in 2014 we are going to see a real convergence. It may not be something that will be encouraged by either Google or Microsoft, but for consumers, this is a true win. Ultimately we may see some heads collide on this movement if indeed it takes off like I expect it should.
In 2013 we did see some innovations regarding devices that can bring Android and Windows. In fact Asus was one such company. This time though, they are really bringing their “A” game with the TD300. Let me explain why this is going to change the landscape of laptops and tablets and why consumers should fight to make this new way. Before CES 2014 we did hear rumblings that Google and Microsoft are threatening partners not to go the route of merging both Android and Windows on a single device. Intel however are the ones really pushing this new category and it looks like Asus has taken up the offering from Intel. Will they be corporate fallout? Perhaps. As consumers, who cares. Let’s buy these devices and make it impossible for either Google or Microsoft to dictate what we can or cannot have on our devices.
So why is the Transformer Duet TD300 so exciting?
